Attending a career fair can feel intimidating. For many students, it’s their first opportunity to market themselves to a room full of strangers explore their career options with potential employers. While it can be nerve-wracking, these events are a great way to gain insight on various industries, build confidence, and discover new career paths they may not have considered before.
Forcine is excited to be hitting the road this spring to visit high schools and universities throughout the region, meeting with students to discuss what we do, our employee benefits, and what a career path at Forcine could look like long term. We’ll also be sharing information about opportunities available during summer and winter breaks, giving students a chance to gain hands-on experience while still in school.
Joining the team at these events will be Valery Arroyo, Forcine’s Recruiter/HR Coordinator. For Valery, the students that stand out are the ones with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn, not just the ones with the most polished resumes.
“When I meet students at career fairs, I want to see enthusiasm and genuine interest,” says Valery. “I look for students who are friendly, confident, curious, and ready to learn. A strong handshake never hurts either! We’re looking for people who are willing to work hard, travel when needed, and put in the effort today to build a great career tomorrow.”
For those feeling nervous about attending, Valery encourages students not to overthink the experience.
“My biggest advice is to be yourself, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to start a conversation,” she says. “We’re there because we want to meet you, and that first conversation could open the door to something great.”
We encourage students to stop by our booth at one of our upcoming career fairs to chat with us and learn more about what a career with Forcine would look like. Whether you’re actively searching for a position, looking to gain experience while in school, or just exploring your options, we’d love the opportunity to meet you and discuss where a career with Forcine could take you.
Can’t make it to a career fair? We’d still love to meet you. Reach out to Valery Arroyo directly at varroyo@forcineconcrete.com.
